the unwritten rule

The Unwritten Rule (La Regla No Escrita) is a Spanish short film that follows a rookie criminal who faces two heroes without knowing the rules she needs to follow to challenge them.

For its promotional poster, the challenge was to create intrigue around the story without revealing too much—and without relying on photographs of the actors.

I turned Madrid's Temple of Debod and the film's superhero-inspired “Ñ” signal into the visual centerpiece of the campaign.

AT A GLANCE.

“Sometimes constraints make the concept stronger.”

This project reminded me that creative limitations don't necessarily limit the idea.

No actors. No photoshoot. Very little budget.

What we did have was a compelling story, an iconic Madrid location, and a visual clue that could become the heart of the campaign.

I loved having the creative freedom to explore those elements and turn them into something cinematic. More than anything, I was proud to contribute to an independent team whose work deserved to be seen.

You don’t always need more resources. Sometimes you just need a better way to see what you already have.
